Metaphor? Relationship with fashion, because it looks cool? I candidly don't have a solid set of thoughts that I can articulate but I have had a set of vague opaque thoughts and ideas I can't really put my finger on since the early or mid-2000's.
Setup took longer than I expected. Restrictive and burdensome but not too restrictive for movement.
I started to see the wholesale incorporation of fetish sub-culture elements into mainstream designers lines from shoes, to dresses, to accessories. Ten years later I still see this. Of course being a curious person that's always intrigued me. I've thought many times about a project surrounding this bit of cultural reality.
Reflecting on the few sets I made for the Fragments side project some notions of that curiosity have manifested themselves in these. I have to keep that in mind because somehow in the main Black/White project I think I have some notions of putting some of that in there somehow.
In the Fragments project I displayed the raw material for these separately rather than as intended from the beginning; Together either as diptychs or juxtapositioned together in some way.
I think these take on a completely different set of meanings or interpretations together rather than either independently.
One of the things I am putting off until I can wrap my head around it in a more concrete way is the same thing on a much broader set of photographs for the main Black/White project which is absolutely critical in what I want the project to say. I should probably start down that road sooner rather than later as I can sort of take the whole thing in at once but obviously how it's edited and put together is the only way anyone else will be able to take it in as I intend.
